Major workshop upgrade: a Hunter HawkEye Elite alignment ramp, a clear-floor lift and a battery platform

After two busy weeks, our workshop upgrade is finished. A clear-floor two-post lift, a dedicated battery removal platform, and an in-house four-post alignment ramp with a Hunter HawkEye Elite system.

The past two weeks have been extremely busy behind the scenes at MegaEV, but today we finished a major workshop upgrade.

A clear-floor two-post lift

We replaced our large commercial lift with a clear-floor two-post lift. It gives us much better access underneath the cars.

That makes a big difference when working on the coil-sprung Model S and Model 3, and above all when removing a high-voltage battery.

A dedicated battery removal platform

We have also invested in a dedicated battery removal platform. It lets us remove and refit Tesla battery packs in a much more controlled way, which matters on jobs like our recent 100kWh battery upgrade and battery coolant leak repair.

The biggest upgrade: wheel alignment in-house

We replaced our smaller two-post lift with a four-post alignment ramp and a Hunter HawkEye Elite wheel alignment system.

We had been struggling to find a reliable local alignment centre with the right equipment, the right setup and the right understanding of Teslas. So we decided to bring it in-house, and to offer a premium alignment service to all Tesla owners.

That means we can now carry out proper alignment checks and adjustments ourselves, especially after:

  • suspension and steering repairs
  • motor removal work that needs the subframe taken off

It also gives us better control over the whole repair. Instead of repairing a car here and relying on someone else to finish the job properly, we can see it through from start to finish. After jobs like replacing suspension bushes, correct alignment is part of getting the result right.

Alignment bookings opening soon

Fitting, setting up and calibrating everything took time, so we are currently working through a large backlog. We will be opening new alignment bookings soon. If you would like to be one of the first, send us a message and we will let you know. Our four-wheel alignment service explains more.

Another big step forward for the workshop.
